Venturing Out
Wednesday, December 23, 2009 | 10:54 amAnyways, the train ride was easy and very relaxing.? It was only an hour ride and in fact, it was CHEAP!? It was only AUS $10!? In American dollars, it was only 6.50!
As I took the advantage of Australia’s great train system, I ventered to the Blue Mountains, a range of mountains just outside of Sydney to meet a friend whom I met in Lacoste.? Her boyfriend was a student at SCAD-Lacoste,Replica Handbags, and she came to Lacoste for a few weeks to see him.? Both of them live in the Blue Mountains region.? The boyfriend is still traveling throughout the world as he’s taking a year off from work to do this opportunity, but his girlfriend, Naomi, was back in town.? There are also some quaint towns in the Blue Mountains with cafes and bakeries like the ones we would find in Europe.
Blue Mountains is stunning.? It’s just a land of lots of green bumps like camel humps.? We took a short walk on a trail in the mountains and then an awesome train ride that went straight up a VERY steep slope!? It was like riding a rollar coaster!

Tonight, after dinner, several girls and I went to a dorm that has a nice little lounge.? A guy created a movie theater in the lounge by setting a projector and connecting the projector to computer.? It was sure an old fashion life of watching movies, except we used a computer instead of a roll of film.? We just upgraded the technology a little.? Even though we’re all adults, we sure did decide to watch a fun Disney movie, The Incredibles. Adults can never stop enjoying Disney movies.? Disney movies are full of magical stories.? I have to admit that this was my first time watching The Incredibles, and it was an extremely adorable movie!? I loved how the family was such a compliment to each other by sharing their superhero powers to help each other win the “game.”
I’m having the time of my life. I feel like I’m at a sleep away camp.? Good Times!? Great Vibrations!
The past two days has been full of immense experiences with a great mass of fun times.? I had my first day of photography class yesterday which lasted 6 hours.? I want to tell the story about my life in Provence as an American tourist through photographs.? I have to do it creatively.? What are some great memories that I have already?
Today was just a plain awesome day!? I was practically living the life of Magic School Bus’s characters.? Instead of meeting my art history class in classroom, we went out on field trips!
This is seriously the time of my life!? This college life is incomparable to what I’ve had in Savannah and Atlanta. There are so much happenings.? In spite of the little village that we live in, we get creative and have fun like we did tonight which was creating a movie theater!
The professors are living their life with the college students.? They live next door to us, they eat all meals with us, take us on outings, and participate in numerous activities with us.? It’s so cool to walk down the road and say, “Hey professor!”
After class and dinner, I was so exhausted as I had a very long day.? In fact, I did wake up at 7AM again to snap photos of the sunrise yesterday.? Surprise!? Surprise!? After snapping shots of the sunrise, I did some sketching of certain architectural parts in Lacoste for my animation class assignment.? It’s the first time since my freshman year that I have done some drawings, and I feel like I have to refresh my drawing skills.? I just simply have to continue to practice.
During the last hour of class, we went to Apt and just toured around the city.? How cool is the fact that we can go on outings during class?? Believe or not, I have TONS of field trips schedule within the next several weeks including trips to the mini Alps and Sisterton!? It’s going to be so much fun!? I’m going to gain so much experiences as a travel photographer!? Good Times!? Great Vibrations!

With astonishment, instead of meeting my animation class in the classroom, we went on an excursion to downtown Avignon to shoot some photos or draw some pictures of one-point perspective, two-point perspective, and three-point perspective.? Unreal!? This learning experience was wonderful because I learn so much better when I’m at the real environment and using “hands-on” techniques than sitting in the classroom and listening to lectures.? While I learned the aspects of perspectives, I also had the opportunity to see Avignon.

- So what’s the first video game ever? Pong? Wrong? Space War? Good guess, but still wrong. - As stated many times before, I have not been impressed with the Xbox 360. Till today. Its easily the most impressive and realistic reproduction of NYC I’ve ever seen in a video game. All of a sudden, I’m extremely interested in the 360 all over again.

The clam ‘n jam on Saturday night proved to be lots of fun, despite the rain and the fact that I couldn’t partake in any of the clamming due to my allergy to shellfish.
Anyway, the downpour was heavy at times, but if you stood right next to the fire, the rain would evaporate the half-second it hit you, causing everyone to be very steamy. The jamming component consisted of mostly older dudes playing acoustic renditions of various Beatles and Stones classics, plus other folk standards. I was expecting lots of pot smoking, but I think most people saved that for their camper trailers. Andy, MK’s best friend’s boyfriend, took the prize for most clams consumed in our party, around 40, or some other insane amount, both raw and cooked (and by the end of the night, he was regretting it). As for the booze you had the kegerator, which is an entire fridge converted into a working keg. We brought with us a bottle of rum which when mixed lemon ice was pretty damn nice, even though you could just feel the diabetes starting to form.

I Love Technology, But Technology Hates Me
Monday, December 14, 2009 | 2:18 pmI recently got an iPod… the just discontinued 40 gig model at really sweet price through SVA… and after playing with it for just 5 minutes, I came across a problem: the damn thing will pause out of the blue.
So what are my options? I guess I could waste valuable time at the Apple Store and get in the inevitable shouting match with one of the so called “Apple Geniuses” like usual. I know they hate it when I correct them 90% of the time, but that’s because they are always wrong 90% of the time. I just tried calling Apple directly and the phone support person was of no use (besides the regular coverage, I paid an extra $60 for the input of Apple Care-certified idiots). I’ve done computer troubleshooting on the phone before, and I know first hand that you have to be extremely clear and concise,Replica Chanel, period. And if there’s something that either person does not understand, you absolutely have to make it clear, you just can’t move on. The woman could even explain how to properly reset the damn thing.
A possible solution has been offered, dubbed “the iCondom”, in which you’re supposed to cover the metal part of the headphone jack with plastic, like from a shopping bag, but I’m sorry, that’s so fucking ghetto that I flat-out refuse to try it.
I did some research and discovered that my problem is not at all unique. One theory is that with such a high demand for the iPod, Apple has become careless with its design and production.
As much as I love computers, gadgets, and technology in general, they sure as hell fucking hate me. That and they just don’t make them like they used to.
I love having problems related to Apple products and asking for advice online since the answers are always so super useful, especially on Apple-centric sites. My fave place has to be ResExcellence, which used to be an awesome resource for Mac info and help, but has really gone down the shitter in recent months. Everyone is such an Apple zombie that they simple refuse to acknowledge that a problem could even exist on an Apple product, and therefore downplay everything. One retard even suggest that I should just try to “get used it.” Again, I paid $300+ for a portable music player that won’t play when it’s moved. There’s no getting used to anything here.
Ughhh… I’m so pissed right now. And the best part is that I already know I’m going to have to deal with the same exact crap when I get a PSP. As I’ve said before, one fear of waiting too long to get one is that Sony might get cheap and sloppy with later versions, as is the case with iPods apparently.
Actually, it doesn’t happen at random; the iPod is designed to pause automatically when the headphones are pulled out, but that’s not the case here. But all I have to do is just touch it a hair and it pauses. What the hell? What’s the fucking point of having a portable device if I can’t move it?!
